Jailbreak 2000 a success Superintendent Ben Varner announced staff members of SCI Dallas recently organized a
motorcycle ride called Jailbreak 2000 to benefit Correctional Officer Michael Pucci. Pucci was injured in an automobile
accident when a drunk driver hit him. This accident left him with a bruised brainstem that causes him to have blackouts
at any time. Due to his injuries, he has used all of his leave time, so his fellow staff members at SCI Dallas, combined
with other correctional employees and motorcycle enthusiasts from SCIs Waymart, Retreat, Coal Township, Frackville and
Mahanoy, participated in Jailbreak 2000. The motorcycle ride began at SCI Dallas and picked up riders and supporters as
each institution was visited. Approximately 100 bikes were involved, and more than $1,400 was raised for Officer Pucci.
Special thanks went to SCI Waymarts Officers Fund, the Blue Knights, Rolling Thunder PA Chapter 3 and the Marauders
for supporting this run. Chairpersons of the event were Ed Lanyon, Jack Callaghan, Charlie Coleman, Frank Werts, Linda
Wodyka, Gisele Lentz and all staff members at SCI Dallas.
